Course: 5-6 Science

This science will offer interactive discussions, hands-on experiments and activities, demonstrations, and may also include memory work, songs, games, and worksheets. Typically, we will cover one unit per class, consisting of several lessons.

Purchasing these books is optional but highly recommended. Families with students who will remain in elementary science for 3–4 years may consider purchasing the full God’s Design Science MasterBooks 4-book set, as all 12 books (three within each MasterBook) will be taught over a three-year cycle. Each year, we select four books from across the sets to provide a broad range of science topics.

Please note:

• Teacher’s guides are not required.
• Be sure to purchase the Grades 3–8 editions (not the “For Beginners” K–2 versions).

Students benefit greatly from reading the assigned unit before class. Pre-reading helps them follow discussions more easily, participate in answering questions, and retaining information.

While purchasing the book is optional, students will benefit from reading the assigned chapters at home. No required homework will be assigned, though optional assignments and projects will be encouraged.
