About the Course
*If this time slot does not work for your student, please contact Mrs. Stone because she may be able to offer the class in a different time slot.
For this class we will use Shormann Calculus 1 which is a Self-Paced eLearning course, utilizing Dive into Math, a 21st Century Math & Science Program with a Biblical Foundation. It is important for the student to read the rules and definitions then watch the video lecture while taking notes and working the example problems for that lesson. After that, the student should work the practice problems that go with the lecture. During class we will go over several problems from each of the four or five lessons assigned for that week. But I will be glad to go over other problems and questions also. Dr. Shormann recommends using a scientic calculator or graphing calculator; TI-Nspire CX graphing calculator (standard, not the CX-CAS), the TI-Nspire CX II, or the TI-Nspire iPad App. The Shormann Calculus website calculates the grade for you each time you work a problem, do a quiz, or take a test. So you get immediate feedback. It would be helpful to bring your laptop, calculator, and notebook to class every Thursday.
Here is a link for where you can purchase this program. It will be for sale by the end of the summer.
