Expectations and Homework
Because this class is an elective and is often taken alongside other English classes, the homework is designed to be manageable, with about 1-2 hours at most needed to complete assignments.
Class Supplies Needed
Stay tuned for information regarding what textbook students will need. Along with this, students will need a notebook for completing assignments and pencils.

About the Course
Upper School Creative Writing

Creative Writing is a class designed for students seeking to develop their writing skills in a safe, stress-free environment. Class time will be a blend of teaching, projects, and collaborative learning as students share assignments for encouragement and feedback. Students will learn and practice macro level skills such as developing plot, characters, and setting along and micro level skills like imagery, word choice, and poetry. 

This class is an hour and costs $250.

About Christina
Christina

Christina is excited for the opportunity to continue teaching at Cornerstone Classical School! She graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor's Degree in English and Writing: Christian Literature and from Boyce College with an Associate Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. She has taught a variety of classes at Cornerstone for the last seven years. She attended Weber School of Dance in Jeffersonville for eight years where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, and lyrical dance. At Weber, she also served as an assistant instructor. Along with this, Christina has partnered with Elevate Dance Ministry as an assistant instructor for a dance outreach at Hope Place in Louisville, Kentucky. Besides her love for dance, she also has a passion for creative writing, having studied as a student in high school and further in college. In the spring of 2021, she was blessed to win the Home For His Glory Young Authors Contest.

In her free time, Christina enjoys wandering the outdoors (as long as there are no snakes:), reading good books, doodling characters, writing stories and songs, and choreographing dances.

Christina is looking forward to showing others how to glorify God and share his love through literature and the arts!
