About the Course
**This class is only open to and recommended for Latin students who have completed Second Form Latin.
Third Form Latin will review First and Second form material while learning new tenses, voices, and moods and increasing the student's vocabulary with another 240 words. The course will be taught similarly to the other forms, including a weekly review for assistance in memorization. We will also achieve memorization of vocabulary and grammatical forms through the different senses (e.g., singing/speaking, listening, writing, seeing, etc.). Textbooks required:
Third Form Student Text - https://www.memoriapress.com/curriculum/latin/third-form-latin-student-text/
Third Form Student Workbook - https://www.memoriapress.com/curriculum/latin/third-form-latin-student-workbook/
Third Form Quizzes and Tests - https://www.memoriapress.com/curriculum/latin/third-form-latin-quizzes-tests/
Optional, but highly recommended:
Pronunciation CD - https://www.memoriapress.com/curriculum/latin/third-form-latin-pronunciation-cd/
flashcards - https://www.memoriapress.com/curriculum/latin/third-form-latin-flashcards/
Learning Latin helps students learn to think critically and to express their thoughts well. Latin helps students grow in their understanding of the way language works (including English vocabulary and grammar). I will encourage student participation through recitation, board work, comments, and questions. I will give weekly assignments and will expect the assignments to be handed in on time. Further, over the year, the student’s knowledge of the material will be tested through regular written quizzes and a few written tests. We will have fun while learning by playing review games periodically.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have. I look forward to working with your students again this year!
