About the Course
1-2 Language Arts

This class will be an introduction to language arts for young students. There will be engaging and interactive activities to help develop important reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Students will enjoy exploring fun stories and poems while learning to understand characters, events, and key ideas. They will learn to write complete sentences, use correct punctuation, and spell common words. Students will also practice speaking clearly and listening carefully to others by presenting a bi-weekly recitation for class throughout the year.

We will be using Memoria Press More Storytime Treasures for our literature portion of class. Please purchase the student guide for your child to bring to class each week: https://www.christianbook.com/more-storytime-treasures-student-guide-grades/mary-ross/9781615389643/pd/389640?event=BRSRCG|PSEN#CBD-PD-Description

About Carrie
Carrie

I am very excited for my second year of teaching at Cornerstone! I have four children, ages 11 to 4, who attend Cornerstone as well. I have a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and have loved getting to witness growing babies in the womb, though now my full time job is a homeschool mom (which I love too)! I have previously worked as an assistant preschool teacher. My husband and I currently serve as the children's ministry directors at our local church. Our family enjoys exploring different parks in the area, playing board games, and making memories at Disney World. I am looking forward to getting to know your child as we work together to foster a love of learning.
