Course: 1-2 Language Arts

This class will be an introduction to language arts for young students. There will be engaging and interactive activities to help develop important reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Students will enjoy exploring fun stories and poems while learning to understand characters, events, and key ideas. They will learn to write complete sentences, use correct punctuation, and spell common words. Students will also practice speaking clearly and listening carefully to others by presenting a bi-weekly recitation for class throughout the year.

We will be using Memoria Press More Storytime Treasures for our literature portion of class. *It is also highly recommended that each student has their own copy of the 7 books we will be reading together throughout the year. Most libraries should have these readily available to borrow, or websites like thriftbooks sell used copies. I will give you a course calendar closer to the start of the year so you know which weeks each book will be read. Here is the list of books needed:
