About Rachel
In 2026/2027 I will be teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry.
The Lord has directed my steps over the years in where to serve with the gifts He has given me. I am thrilled to have this next opportunity to serve the Cornerstone community as a math instructor!
I was born and raised in Indiana. I attended Olivet Nazarene University and earned a BS in Secondary Math Education. After graduating, I married the love of my life, and we both got hired to teach at the same high school in my home town. There, I taught math courses and was given the opportunity to write an Algebra II curriculum with a team of teachers. After two years of teaching and developing curriculum, we had our first child. We made the decision that I would stay home until the Lord led us to do otherwise. I am grateful to say I’ve been able to remain home and have had the blessing to homeschool our three children for the past eight years now. I have continued to receive various opportunities to tutor students in mathematics, teach art classes to local homeschool children, and instruct various co-op classes. I have grown immensely as an educator homeschooling our three children in addition to other children in our community. I am excited to step into this new role as a math teacher at Cornerstone.
Aside from being a passionate educator, I enjoy a good cup of coffee, deep conversation, and any opportunity to get creative! I am looking forward to getting to know my students and helping them grow in the area of mathematics!
