About the Course
Fall semester will be broken down into 2 parts. Weeks 1-6 we will be learning about engineering design and structures, focusing on the engineering process (plan, create, test, redesign) and mechanical physics. A few of our projects will be building a small-scale survival shelter, who can build a bridge that holds the most weight, and building a self-propelled car. Weeks 7-12 we will be learning about earth and space systems by exploring planetary science, the solar system, and Earth's interconnected systems. Some of our projects will be creating a "Rube Goldberg ecosystem," paper rockets, and researching and designing a Mars rover.
I need a minimum of 4 students to teach this class.

About Alexandria
Hi! Iām Alex McManus and I am excited for this opportunity to be teaching STEM projects this school year. I moved here to the southern Indiana area 15 years ago when I married my husband. We have three daughters, whom I have been homeschooling for 8 years. I enjoy teaching middle schoolers at church and for a non-profit organization for at-risk youths. I love to go on adventures, learn new hobbies, and go rockhounding.
