About the Course
5-6 STEM Spring

Spring semester will be broken down into 2 parts. Weeks 13-18 we will be learning about life science and ecosystems by investigating biological structures and how organisms interact with their environment. A few projects will be creating a 3D edible cell model, building a self-sustaining terrarium, and exploring the human body by creating a hand model. Weeks 19-24 we will be learning about electricity and physical computing by creating hands-on electronics and hardware without relying solely on screen-based coding. A few of our projects will be creating playdough circuits, paper circuits using copper take and coin batteries, and exploring projects with Snap Circuits.

Class minimum is 4 students.

About Alexandria
Alexandria

Hi! I’m Alex McManus and I am excited for this opportunity to be teaching STEM projects this school year. I moved here to the southern Indiana area 15 years ago when I married my husband. We have three daughters, whom I have been homeschooling for 8 years. I enjoy teaching middle schoolers at church and for a non-profit organization for at-risk youths. I love to go on adventures, learn new hobbies, and go rockhounding.

If you have any comments, questions, or prayer requests, you can reach me by the provided email and cell phone. I will respond faster to text message.
